In the ever changing digital landscape of e-commerce, it is critical to stay on top of current trends, explore new innovations, and forge lasting partnerships with key players in the industry. For these very reasons (and more!) Indaba sent their fearless sales team to the Internet Retailer Conference + Exhibition (IRCE) in Chicago this past June 7-10. Alaina Reynen, our Enterprise Sales Manager, and Travis Militzer, our SME Sales Manager, were joined by Ryan Shields, Cloud Commerce Board Member and Indaba’s CEO, for the 4 day event that included 200+ speakers and 130+ conference sessions.
Our team went into the conference with a plan to enrich their knowledge of the current global e-commerce landscape, identify trends and future opportunities (and challenges) faced by merchants, meet face to face with key strategic vendors, partners, prospects and customers, and create opportunities for long term partnerships based on our company pillars, collaboration, innovation, and growth.
“This year’s IRCE was, in my opinion, the most successful and well-run year out of the last several I’ve been in attendance. With Alaina and Travis in tow, the three of us were able to divide and conquer, so to speak, and put us in a position to achieve and exceed our attendance objectives” – Ryan Shields
Indaba’s focus on the growing B2B e-commerce market was validated by the new “B2B Track” of sessions at the conference. With sessions covering ‘Moving from Omnichannel to Personalization’, ‘Analytics for B2B’, and ‘Marketplaces and their role in B2B success’, it was clear that B2B is becoming a huge player in the e-commerce space.
To account for this growing space in the market, Indaba has aligned with B2B heavy-hitters, SAP Hybris and Oro Commerce. Indaba is looking forward to meeting the challenges that B2B companies face when bringing their business online to the masses and is proud to have two great platforms in their corner.
The energy at this year’s conference was palpable and Indaba’s sales team echoed that energy meeting with potential clients, current platform and partner executives, and new channel representatives. Alaina and Travis were very active and effective on the floor, while Shields attended several of the conference’s 130+ sessions.
The future of e-commerce is very bright for those willing to collaborate, innovate, and grow together – we will see you again next year IRCE!
